I cannot perform any search on firefox. it always redirects me to another screen.
I have blocked the cookies and also changed proxy settings. I have also cleared history and enabled pop-up blocker. I dont know what to do.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
