In the upper right of the Firefox screen I have a Google search pane. Ever since I caught them nicking personal data I hate google and all its works, HOw do I get them out of Firefox?
Top right of the FIrefox screen is the input pane of the Google search engine. I want rid of it. I don't want Google watching over my shoulder and selling info all round the world.

Click on the Google icon in that Search Bar and open Manage Search Engines...
Then click on Google in that "Manage ..." window so it is highlighted and then click Remove.
You will also want to change the keyword.URL preference.
