I have the same problem but on Linux machine. Removing settings directory $HOME/.mozilla seams to "fix" the problem.

Happening on Mac 10.6.3 with Firefox. Disabled Cool Preview, restarted Firefox and it was gone.

I do not know why, but suddenly this noice was there. Actually, I just opened Firefox like everyday.

I disabled CoolPreviews, too and, however, the noice is not there any longer.
