Just a comment here: try restoring 100% of the profile, not just components. That usually works.

If I could I would but the whole profile was already restored.

I restored the last ImportExportTools NG profile to get back up within an hour. As there hasn't been a crash in more years than I can remember IET was set to run once a week. The data on the crashed machine can be recovered, but no programs can run. The Windows partition won't boot either.

In the four days it took to get to this point the calendar had been updated and several hundred emails processed.

A transplant seemed at least a good idea to try and I don't see why T-Bird (same release on PC-A and PC-B) does not seem to care about the recovered files.

Also the ImportExportTools NG has been set to run DAILY and the whole-profile copies are being stored on another machine. I really try not to get burned the same way twice!
