You don’t actually need to move Firefox to the SD card to solve this, and in most cases you can’t properly install Firefox to an SD card on Windows anyway.

What you can do is one of these options:

Option 1: Install Firefox from the SD card (recommended)

If your phone/SD card already has the Firefox installer on it:

Connect the phone to the laptop with USB (or insert the SD card directly if the laptop has a slot)

Copy the Firefox installer (Firefox Setup.exe) from the SD card to the laptop (Desktop is fine)

Double-click the installer and install Firefox normally (default location is fine)

Mozilla also provides a full offline installer, which is ideal for slow or broken browsers: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Option 2: Run Firefox directly from the SD card (portable use)

If you really need Firefox to run from the SD card without installing, you can use Firefox Portable, which runs without touching the system.

This is slower and updates are manual, but it works on older systems. There’s a good overview of how the portable version works and its limitations here: https://appgetters.com/mozilla-firefox-portable-for-windows/

Important notes

Windows 7 can still run Firefox, but newer versions are no longer supported

Firefox itself cannot upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10

You’ll still need Microsoft’s Windows 10 Media Creation Tool for the OS upgrade

Firefox 116.0 and later including the current Firefox 147.0.2 Release and 140.7.0esr requires Windows 10, 11 to run.

The most current you can run on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 is Firefox 115 ESR currently at 115.32.0esr

You can download the Firefox 115,32.0esr at below. Note 32-bit Firefox can work on both 64-bit and 32-bit Windows however 64-bit Firefox will not run on 32-bit Windows.. 64-bit: https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/win64/ 32-bit: https://www.firefox.com/download/all/desktop-esr/win/

The click on language you want then click on [Download ESR 115] to download the current offline Fx 115 ESR setup
