Mark as Spam, Then Automatically Move to Bulk Folder

more options

I would like to be able to click the little fire icon on an email in my "list of emails" window to Mark as Spam, then have Thunderbird automatically move it to my Bulk folder after that.

I looked to see if I could set up a filter to do that, but don't see "Marked as Spam" as one of the selection criteria.

Is there a setting to accomplish what I'm looking for?

Yeah, Thunderbird should move it automatically if it's marked as Junk (the fire icon). Just make sure in Settings > Junk Settings, you’ve checked the box that says "Move new junk messages to: \[Bulk/Junk folder]." Filters won’t help here since it’s handled by the junk mail controls.

In account settings, under Junk settings.

I have encountered issues in the past with antivirus programs scanning inside Thunderbird profile folder preventing the automatic moves. I found an exclusion in the antivirus scanning in the profile folder generally fixed the issue. Moving to Defender has most fixed all of my issues with Antivirus products.

Martin, that was the trick. That box wasn't checked for some reason. Now that I checked it, checking an item's Fire icon moves it immediately.
