Tags greyed out on tool bar?

I used to tag messages - with 12 different colours depending on category/status - directly from the Tool bar menu. Now the icon is greyed and I have to right-click in the message to bring up the drop-down menu. I know it's only 3 clicks instead of 2, but it feels clunky. This has only happened since the latest updates?

Can anyone help? I looked at Keyboard shortcuts but they only use 0-9, and I have 0-12, all of which I need.

Thank you:-)

If you select the mail account name folder in Folder Pane, it will make the 'Tag' icon on 'Mail Toolbar' go greyed out. But if you select a folder in Folder Pane then it should become enabled and be clickable etc. So something has gone sqiffy.

Try this:

  • Menu app icon > Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • click on 'Restart with addons disabled' button
  • a small 'Thunderbird Safe Mode' window appears asking what to do
  • Select checkbox 'Reset toolbars and controls'
  • click on 'Make changes and restart'

Did it get that 'Tag' icon enabled again ?
