how to block specific sites?

In one case, I want to block "aws.amazon.com" I can't seem to "unsubscribe" this particular site, and I opine that ability to block this and perhaps other sites ... would be much appreciated.

Hi Diarm, it's possible that Mozilla uses the Amazon Web Services network for some browser-related data or functions. If you are interested in what kinds of requests Firefox might be making separate from your requests for specific web pages, please see this article:

Note that add-ons and sites you care about also might use AWS. Blocking all access to AWS could lead to unpredictable results.
