opening and deleting emails is very slow, I've tried all the suggestions posted here and everywhere else
I just checked my anti virus is disabled for email, I've tried safe mode, I've tried compacting, tried deleting the trash folder mst and restarting and every imaginable thing for a week and this is TB is about to be deleted and going back to my old XP and Outlook Express without all this bloat. Even the new outlook I was supposed to get with W10 is pure junk, no toolbars, no contacts no way to use the thing, at least TB has the normal bells and whistles but it's way too slow to open emails and delete them. The little blue circle spins and why would that be necessary when it's set to download all emails from my server. I need this to work people.

Many Windows 10 users report issues. And most often it's related to antivirus software. See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues and https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Memory_Usage_Problems
Thanks for the suggestion and it's the usual suggestion but System Mechanic is listed as being compatible with TB and I've disabled it anyways. I also included TB in the list of Firewall allowable users. I've come to the conclusion W10 and TB are not compatible although I've tried running compatible with W8 and it's the same slow crawl. I have many local folders and they open and delete with no problem. My emails are set to download from the server so they already are in the inbox and I checked the server and they are not on there so they actually reside in the inbox. After they are open they reopen quick but still take a long time to delete. Something in the build for TB 38.6.0 and W10 - some one will eventually find it I suppose but I'm moving to another email client, I sure miss Outlook Express now.
