i used outlook since years and was very happy. since a coupßle of months I tried thunderbird, but no all over sudden it just deletes my inbox and i cannot find the emails. meanwhile I reactivated my old outlook, which keeps my emaisl where I want them to be for years ! and thunderbird deletes my emails every couple of days by itself.  ???? very dissapointing. I might as well switch back to outlook.. btw I use both programs private for 4 different email accts, from which only 2 accts receive and send about 5 Emails per day!

Good luck anginicht! Sorry but the solution page Thunderbird sent was put in my incoming email box, but guess what, my Thunderbird mail program took it on itself to delete it. Would Thunderbird possibly re-send your answer to this problem?
