Firefox says I need to upgrade to version 39.0 every time I open Firefox, but I already upgraded to 39.0. How do I make that message stop?

Running 64 bit Ubuntu 14.4. Firefox indicated it needed to be updated from version 38.0 to 39.0, and I let it. But now that the update is done, every time I open Firefox, it says I need to update to version 39.0 - but when I check About-Firefox, it tells me that it's already version 39.0! How do I get the warning box to stop coming up? I've tried allowing it to re-update, and re-booted the computer as instructed, but the box just comes up again the next time I open Firefox. Please help!
