how to get rid of mozilla support page and get regular look up page when opening and how to allow wmv add-on to W 8.1
when opening firefox I can't get rid of support window except by closing. I have windows media player but trying to open wmv it says a plug-in is required. thanks for your help.

You can check the home page setting:
- Tools > Options > General > Startup: Home page
Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' (pipe) symbols.
You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder that store session data.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost and you will have to recreate them (make a note or bookmark them if possible).
You can check the target line in the Firefox desktop shortcut (right-click: Properties) to make sure that nothing is appended after the path to the Firefox program.
