Add the Firefox Search widget to your home screen

Firefox lets you search Firefox on your Android home screen without launching the browser.

Firefox Widget

To find out which version of Android you're using, please refer to your device documentation.

Android 5 and up

  1. Press down on any empty spot on your Android home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Tap the Firefox widget from the list.

    The Firefox widget appears on your home screen.
  4. Resize the Firefox widget if necessary.

You can also set Firefox as your default phone assistance app from your Settings > Default Apps screen. For additional information, see Manage my default search engines in Firefox for Android.

Prior to Android 5

  1. Tap the All Apps button on your home screen.
  2. Tap on the Widgets panel, or swipe to the right to get to it.
  3. Tap the Firefox widget to add it to your home screen.
    Tip You have to hold the widget down and drag it to your home screen.
  4. Resize the Firefox widget if necessary.
