I need to move around 9,000 emails from a business Google workspace email to a personal Gmail account. I successfully exported all 9,000 emails to a Mbox file. I added the new Gmail account I want to move the emails to and the exported file to Thunderbird and it shows over 20,000 emails in Thunderbox (even though there should only be around 9,000). I have tried moving the email file to the new email account within Thunderbird twice now. Both times it shows like it is moving the 20,000 emails but when it finishes it only moves around 1,200 emails. How do I get it to import all 9,000 of the emails that are in the exported file?

I've tried the existing fixes but they either don't work or stop working after applied.

I have successfully set up one of my email accounts in Thunderbird, so I know the software works as installed. However when I tried to set up my gmail account, and I get to the sign in with Google popup, I get an error saying that the request cannot be performed because it is "malformed". See attached images.

Background - my old (selfhosted IMAP) server died, I was able to recover the Maildir but for whatever reasons both dovecot and courier ignore the "message read" metadata embedded in the filenames so the local copy in Thunderbird is suddenly the most authoritative.

But every time I try to bulk copy from the old account to local folders or to my new server it fails because it tries to contact the dead server.

Looking for ways to attack this problem

I recently clicked a like on a reply to one of my questions on this help forum and then somehow I also clicked on dislike as I was scrolling through the reply so I clicked the dislike again thinking this would remove the dislike but instead it added another dislike to the person who replied to my question I did not think is was possible to add mulitple likes and dislikes to the same person but it appears this is what I have done is it possible to remove the likes and dislikes you have added and if so how do you go about removing them. Hello

Overnight Thunderbird has developed a major problem. The count for the number of mails in a folder is correct, as best I can tell, but when I open the folder it is either empty or has fewer mails than the count. Based on several tests, repairing sometimes adds more mails, sometimes not, but never the entire folder.

I repaired the inbox and it is now showing several mails that I deleted in the last few days (by emptying the delete folder having previously deleted them). Curiously, they’re all the same type, routine mailings about road works.

I may have backup in that I copy the entire Thunderbird folder to an external drive every morning, including today, and to Google Drive every Wednesday.

Please can you help.

I installed Thunderbird for Android today on my Moto g stylus. I used the QR code to import the settings from Thunderbird on my Windows 10 laptop. In general, things seem to be working, but outgoing messages are not being copied to the "sent" folder. I can see older "sent" messages that were sent from my Windows 10 Thunderbird, but no sent messages that originated from my phone. I have an IMAP mail server.

When I open up my Thunderbird to get emails I keep getting getting error code 0x80570015. I can't see attachments and cannot respond to emails. Also cannot delete emails. I Iooked it up to see how to fix it and they say to remove the "lightning" add on. When I go under tools and look for this add on, it is not there. In fact it doesn't seem that I have any add-ons. Something to do with the calendar which I don't even use. It says Thunderbird is up to date. Could you please give any advice how to fix it. Thanks, Matt

I am an office worker. I close all applications every day before I leave for home. If I forget or miss and leave Thunderbird open overnight, I do not have an internet connection the next morning and I have to reboot my machine. Any ideas as to why that might be?

I am using Thunderbird 128.7.1 on Windows, have several mailboxes (POP and Imap) with many sub-folders and large email archives (~20 years of emails) under "Local Folders". Indexing used to work fine over all those folders and I liked it a lot, in particular the timeline view on global searches.

Now, since a while (not sure for how long) indexing only looks into all my "Sent" folders, and not any of the incoming folders or local folders. I see that in all the global searches I try now. Note, whenever I archive a large amount of emails, I delete global-messages-db.sqlite and re-start TB to make sure the index gets re-built to match the real folder content. Previously global-messages-db.sqlite had a few GB in size, not it does not get larger than ~100MB.

How can I tell TB to index all folders as it used to do?

I can see the messages on my phone and on the web interface and if I forward the message I can see it in the "sent" folder. What could be going on? Thanks for your help

My Thunderbird application is either deleting or hiding emails. So far, it appears to be emails I send and copy my self on. I included a BCC to my second email and still it disappeared.

I initially receive the emails, but once I exit Thunderbird, then later launch Thunderbird again, initially the email is present, then it disappears.

I have no idea what to do to correct this issue, if it is something I can correct.

I am running Thunderbird version 115.18.0 (64-bit), on Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3

I hope there is a fix for this. I do not like seeing my emails disappearing before my eyes. This is a weird issue.
