Search open tabs in Firefox not working it worked some time ago but now not.

I have intense work with multiple tabs so it was very handy but I lost it, I expect some about:config adjustment hints.

Dell desktop running Mint Mate 22. Bookmarks missing about 50% of bootups. Saved bookmarks to both HTML and JSON during an occasion they did appear, when they next were missing attempted to restore them via Library pop-up (Manage bookmarks). I could not determine a path to direct the system to either locally saved file. In Library, selected Restore, which then asks me to choose file, but none of the data fields accepted or acted upon input. re-installed Firefox but same result. Then clicked on the saved HTML file, multiple screens flashed on the display, with multiple items in the tray. The final result was the bookmarks were all displayed as expected, but since the problem has been inconsistent, unknown whether they will display on future bootups.

Wish to have guidance on using the Library pop-up to restore saved bookmarks when they are missing. Perhaps some knowledgeable user could post a step-by-step through the restore process.

I have questions about websites I visit that don't seem to work in Firefox, but when I visit the same sites in Microsoft Edge, the sites work fine. Previously (one site, 6 months ago, the second, in the last month), I had no issues with either site. It makes me wonder whether some protocol or requirement has changed that has caused my recent experience. Both sites are secure sites (banking and bill-paying related), and when I first experienced it, I didn't give it much thought since it happened while using the Windows 7 machine. I am now using a newer Windows 11 machine.

My most recent visit to the municipal site (water-bill payment and statement download) resulted in the new tab displaying

At the credit union site, I click a link that results in rotating arcs atop the webpage's background, and it neither times out nor displays the next screen (a link to a specific account). When I use the credit union's app on my smartphone, the next page displays as it should. (A message reply by the credit union showed a lack of understanding.)

Most of the Firefox settings are at its default settings, and the two sites are allowed to open pop-up tabs.

After 30+ years of using Firefox trouble-free, reverting to Edge is a step backward. (Every time I finish using Edge, I have to run my spyware program.)

The last two days my internet performed poorly, but it worked (in between crashes). Now it took me 12 computer restarts and hours of patience to get to this page and plead for any sort of internet. I can't visit any page with moving imagery or it will crash, it won't start any video if there would be sound on it, stating that I don't have permission or simply not doing anything at all. I can't even finish the news-program I was watching on public acces tv. Please fix this!!! I'm desperate! I need to watch instructions for school and see my work-roster and I can not acces any of those pages anymore.

I have always used FireFoxNow the email that I use to login to mozilla accounts. I cannot gain access the email I use too login.Lost my mobile phone and along with that my sim/number too gain access too my mail account!! See no matter what I do, It asks me to verify my gmail/outlook/yahoo etc

I would lobe to gain axx too my main email address but at the moment I cant get A replacement sim with the number I need too gain/verify because. Too get A Replacement ssim with the number I always used for years now.. they "the mobile provider" want the pin code that came with the sim pack that came years ago!?! Like I have looked every were for that sim card pack to get the original pin code too get a replacement. Shur it was years ago and that pack with the original pin code that of course I changed it too A code I would like. So now i am stuck between a rock and a hard place. No original sim, They wont accept that it was years old "Original pin on the sim pack" and I have changed the pin from the original pin, lost the original pin! So I just lets say for mozilla want too change my email too my new email because I cant login to my gmail, even do I know the password etc but google wants me too verify threw the phone I lost or the number I lost.

Can anyone advise me on how I can at the very least change the mail i use to login here too an new mail I had to make.

When i start to use Firefox and browse internet, usage of ram memory slowly rise up to max, using 5-10 GB, i disabled AI, same problem, don't know if something with Youtube causing this, every open tab is consume too much of ram memory. I think it started yesterday or day before. Installed again Firefox, same problem, if i have more open tabs, quickly rise consumption or ram, i have 16GB. Now 4 tabs, FB and 3 Youtube, more than 5.6BG. In Task Manager shows Firefox (20), 20? only 4 tab open and ram rises.

I am using Firefox 150.0 in Linux Mint Cinnamon on a Byte. I always turn off my computer when not in use. Recently I noticed that my search history has become very truncated. Specifically, if I use an in-site search function, my searches no longer appear in my browser history; I only see the address for the site's main page. If I want to resume a search after turning off the Byte, I have to navigate to the site main page and re-enter the search parameters, then try to remember how far down in the search results I got the last time.

I realize that I can bookmark searches. But the stuff I am doing may require returning to a parameter-heavy search that I did a month ago and didn't think I would need again.

Is there some way to adjust this new, uninformative default History dialog box and see my entire browsing history again?

Today Firefox started acting up on YouTube. I couldn't use pause or play buttons. I rebooted my computer (though Safari works fine), I force quit Firefox and restarted it. No dice. I finally removed it from my Macbook Pro and redownloaded it. But it obviously wasn't a fresh copy because it still had all my bookmarks and extensions included. It worked for a short while and then started acting up again. I don't have any new extensions so I'm not sure what's causing the problem.

Since it seems corrupt, I don't want another copy of what I already have on my current Firefox App. I want to start over to see if it works better.

I would like to know how to do that since deleting the app and redownloading didn't give me a fresh app without all my other stuff included.

Any help would be appreciated. I found a great video addressing this but it was for Windows so I couldn't apply the info to my Mac. I checked my history but couldn't find that video which may have helped someone with Windows. Grrrr!

I have issues with firefox sync as it doesn't sync old search history. Firefox Sync works perfectly for recent search history and chronic, but I imported an old profile (xyz.default) to firefox and logged in with my mozilla account. Started synching so that the old profile's history gets merged with the current one. It doesn't. I can see it in the imported old profile, but if I check history on another device, it's not there (aka only locally but not synced yet).

Is it generally possible to add an existing profile and then syncing it to merge it with the current search history one?

Today Firefox has suddenly started using ~20% of my CPU capacity, causing my cooling fan to run high most of the time. Since I had been running Firefox v.149.latest, I tried updating to v.150.0, but that made no difference.

It's not Firefox by itself (only Task Manager open) but whenever I open another tab with almost any website (including this one) that CPU usage spikes. What gives?!

Details: Running under Windows 10 Pro (yes, I have installed the ESU package, good until thi8s fall) on a Lenovo P1 Gen 2. Currently running Firefox inside a Sandboxie Pro v1.17.4 sandbox.

Firefox updated my browser to 150/ 64bit After update now I cant drag and drop from Windows Explorer file widow to my Synology NAS File window. Ive been doing this for years. I brought up Windows Explorer window logged into my Synology NAS brought up the file window and dragged a file from windows explorer file window and it worked fine. So I know the update killed the drag and drop. Anyone have an idea how to fix. I looked in Firefox settings didn't see any way to fix.

did a previous update and could not access one of my sites that I visit (rzrfourms.net) it will load home page but not let me do anything. Can access with chrome.Also did another update today and now can not bring up Facebook marketplace, just sites there not loading. Same problem on desktop and two laptops.

Updated to FF 150 today on Win 11 desktop.

Q1: Can I remove Profiles from the FF toolbar which is located in between Bookmarks and Tools? Only need one profile on this PC. I tried to customize the toolbar but it won't let me drag Profiles off.

Q2: For some reason my FF profile is now on C: even though I had previously moved it to D: to free up space on C: boot drive.

So I created a new profile with exact same folder name on my D: drive today.

In Profile Manager, I renamed the old profile on C: to "name.old and the new one on D: to "name.new". I set name.new as the default profile and it works properly after exiting and restarting FF.

Now I want to delete the .old profile but FF won't left me, saying Can’t delete a profile that is linked to other profiles. There are only the .old and .new profiles listed. So how do I unlink .old so I can delete all of it to free up space on C: ?

Hello, First my Q, then a comment. My bookmarks all show the same date. I can't find what I was going to use for work today because I can't find it in the bookmarks. This has happened frequently, more than not. Please help. On another note, I had said the YouTube commercial blocking wasn't working, but it is now on my Mac OS after changing some settings. Now I'd like to do that on my iphone 11 if possible. I can't seem to open settings the same way. Thank you.
