The search button continually stops working and I have to refresh Firefox to get it working again

Firefox works fine then for some reason when I type a request into the search box and click on the search button nothing happens. If I go to favourites and click on one of them it works no problems. To get firefox to work again correctly I have to go "Refresh with add on disabled" then everything is fine for a while.

I have tried clearing out cookies. Didn't do any good.

P.S. I am no computer geek.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Started in safe mode but couldn't establish any problem but not sure what I was doing. The only extra add-on that is there is Skype. would this cause the problem.
