well, that sentence should have been enough. certainly I am not the only one that has complained about firefox updater.exe using up so many resources a lot of the time that my what used to be fast computer is slow during the running of that program.

If you do not like the actions of the automatic updater, you can disable it. In the about:config window, you can use these settings:

  • app.update.auto - toggle to false
  • app.update.enabled - toggle to false

Do you really mean the updater or do you mean that the Firefox program uses more resources after you updated to Firefox 10.0.2?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
