Hi,

This is my second post regarding this problem. Upon searching and reading the answers to this problem on the Mozilla's community, I found out that Firefox last update on Windows 7 computers is 115.33Oesr. According to cor-el, one of Mozilla's community Moderator, Firefox is stuck on this version not updating to the newest Firefox 148.02. on Windows 7 computers. I thought the whole idea of having Firefox Oesr version was to allow Windows 7 computers to continue using Firefox. Now I have many websites telling me "Access denied". Home Depot, Costco, Kohl's, Ralph's so far that I have found out. Everything works on Chrome, which I prefer not to use. Everything works on my laptop with Windows 11 version Firefox 148.02

Is this going to be fixed???? Is Firefox Oesr going to update to version 1408.02 so people/computers with Windows 7 can continue using these websites?????

I would greatly appreciate your help!!!!!!

Amy

ESR short for Extended Support Release is normally meant for Enterprise users in mind as they like longer term stability with just security/stability updates when maintaining a lot of systems. Mozilla has been updating the old Firefox 115 ESR well past when it was originally going to end in order to give the EOL Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and macOS 10.12, 10.13, 10.14 OS users something to use for a while.

Well, Support doesn't apparenly imply functionality.

Chrome/Chromium based browsers dropped Windows 7, 8, 8.1 support back in January 2023.

Correct. However, Chrome still functions correctly with Akamai Edgesuite

There may be some sort of commonality between these sites giving the Access denied error in older Firefox versions. Normally the sites being built for newer browser versions would say you need to update and then either still allow or block.

The commonality that you seek is Akamai Edgesuite.net. Netsuite is somehow detecting Firefox and blocking it while at the same time (and same IP address) letting Chrome pass.

Firefox 116.0 and later versions including the Firefox 140 Release that the 140.0 ESR is based on (with security/stability updates) requires Windows 10, 11 and macOS 10.15 or later to run.
