Can no longer connect to my Netgear NAS
I used to be able to connect with Firefox (with a warning message from you) to my local Netgear NAS, but now it just says:
Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.100. Peer using unsupported version of security protocol. Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem. This web site might not support the TLS 1.2 protocol, which is the minimum version supported by Firefox.
How can I still override this with Firefox. It's really important I can connect to my NAS.
With thanks,
Nick Curley

Hi
This support article should help:

Hi Nick, these are the old steps to allow Firefox to connect to sites using older SSL/TLS levels. I have not tested in Firefox 143:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.
More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future.
(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste security.tls.version.min and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the preference to display an editing field, and change the value to 2 then press Enter or click the blue check mark button to save the change. Here are the valid values for this preference:
- 3 => TLS 1.2 (default)
- 2 => TLS 1.1
- 1 => TLS 1.0
To avoid lowering your safety on all other sites, you could consider creating a dedicated profile for your NAS and only doing this change there. If you want to try it:
Inside Firefox, type or paste about:profiles in the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it.
Take a quick glance at the page and make a mental note of which Profile has this notation: This is the profile in use and it cannot be deleted. That is your current default profile.
Click the "Create a New Profile" button, then click Next. Assign a name like NAS, ignore the option to relocate the profile folder, and click the Finish button.
Firefox will switch your default profile to the new one, so click the Set as Default Profile button for your regular one to avoid an unwanted surprise at your next startup.
Scroll down to NAS and click its Launch profile in new browser button.
Firefox should open a new window that looks like a brand new, uncustomized installation. (Your existing Firefox window(s) should not be affected.) Please ignore any tabs enticing you to connect to a Sync account or to activate extensions found on your system to keep it isolated.
Apply a different theme (Ctrl+Shift+A > Themes) so it's easy to spot that this window is not like the others.
Then make the setting change and test.
When you are done, you can close the NAS window without affecting your regular Firefox profile.
What do you think?
