Since this is an issue with the New York Times app, it is not something Mozilla is responsible for. You should contact the New York Times support for solving this issue.

Except that it works in Safari, It also used to work on Firefox, but something changed with one of the updates

When you open NYT in a web browser like Safari, the interface will be different from opening the NYT application because they are two separate things. Therefore, I don't understand when in the post title you say that the NYT app has a problem, but then also say that it works in Safari and used to work in Firefox. It is not possible to open an application (like NYT app) in another application (like Firefox). Is it a problem with the NYT app (https://www.nytimes.com/app), or the NYT website (https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/) on Firefox?
