I'm confused... Title says dual boot, but in the comments you say you're running via usb? You need to show us something. What are other browsers doing from the usb stick? How about trying another flavor?  ;-)) openSUSE

I have a few laptops dual booting (not via usb) that work just fine.

Sorry I said dual boot. I'm pretty computer illiterate. I'm trying to learn Linux system so I can get rid of Microsoft! I have a very hard time seeing visually. Had a stroke and I can barely see the 30" monitor I have as my main screen. So my learning curve is steep. My laptop is an HP 15. windows c: - 118GB 90.4GB used - 27.5 GB free Using a T-mobile gateway for internet, working great for years. I guess I'll install Linux physically and see if that makes a difference. I'll let you know what happens.

Wish more users did the same.  ;-)) Before you get stuck in Mint, give openSUSE a try on usb stick.  ;-))
