Over and over, when trying to get help from firefox, I am told to go to Options in the three bar menu. There is NO options on the menu. Using Windows 10 pro All programs updated. NEVER had "Options" on the Firefox menu - NEVER!!! Told to go to General and turn off Hardware acceleration. NO SUCH choice exists in the General heading under the Settings.

Hi

If you select Settings and then under the General tab, scroll down to Performance. If you de-select "Use recommended performance settings" you will see the hardware acceleration option.

I hope that this helps.

It used to be Options on Windows and Preferences on macOS and Linux up till some time ago. It is currently Settings whether on Windows, macOS or Linux now. This old mozillaZIne KB article shows what it used to be http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences_in_Windows,_Linux,_and_Mac

Whatever source you you used that said to go to Options in Firefox menu was rather outdated. AI chat bots have been unfortunately mentioning the outdated Options/Preferences instead of Settings as they should as this was not a recent change.

I am having the same problem as stated above by fryque. However, this just happened to me today. I've been using Firefox for years and always had the Options in the 3 bar menu. This morning everything was as usual, then all of a sudden websites would not accept my usernames or passwords. At some point, Firefox told me it was having some sort of psychic break and did I want to try to fix or reset to default setup. Since I'm no techy and didn't want to go down the "try to fix" rabbit hole, I reset. Long story later, all my stuff is finally back and working. However, I usually have PDF's I download, rename and save, stay open. Now they automatically close. Trying to change that in Firefox is how I came to find out I no longer have Options in the 3 bar menu - and no suggestions get me anywhere. Very frustrating!
