Mac: When I click on a misspelled word in the body of an email the spell checker defaults to first word in the email even if it already spelled correctly
The spell checker identifies incorrect spelled words, however when I right click or control click the word the spell checker only highlights in yellow the first word in the email and gives a dialog with the spelling and definition even though that word already correctly spelled. This is version 33.1 on my mac desktop running 10.10. Spell checking works properly if I use Safari.

Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} While you are in safe mode;
Type about:preferences#advanced<Enter> in the address bar.
Under Advanced, Select General. Look for and turn off Use Hardware Acceleration.
Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?
Then restart.
I followed your instructions. Unfortunately, the problem persists.
Do you have the problem on all sites, some sites?
A spell checker works when using the Safari browser. I am not aware that any spell checker works on web sites other than for the email function. I do have a spell checker function in my word processing and other such applications.
