How can I get just the normal readable text quoted (Gmail-style)?

no in setting i have the font or ink color to bk lack text so when i write it is supposed to be black so why do i see when ii click on the persons name after i send it do i see it as blue u ink text font i want all ink text black i so not like the blue and do not know how to stop it what do i do please help

When I compose a next message, anything I type exist the current window size (on the right) were disappear, until I press CTRL- to zoom out the scene. But when the same issue happened when I kept on typing. I.E. the content I was typing did not move to the next line. So that I could see what I was typing.

(example: the top line of this message, if my window is too big, I can only see upto 'the cur", then "rent window..." is out of the picture. I should move "current window.." to the next line). This is very frustrating when typing a long email. The only option I am using is the manually pressing 'Enter' for the new line.

283 With Thunderbird version 140.11.1, when I click on an email, the content appears below.

With version 151.0.1, the content opens in a new window. This is less convenient. Is it possible to revert to the previous version's behavior? Thank you for your reply.

I don't want all the raw code included in my reply/forward, just the readable text in a format similar to the original. GMail handles this with no issues, so how can I get the same in Thunderbird? Thanks.

Been using outlook since 2000, I am tyrin to cut the umbilial cord to outlook as it is craper each year that passes.

Can i have more than 1 sig as i use maybe 10 different sigs for different reasons?

I see a use file do i get to choose a differt file when inserting sig or am i stuck with one and have to manualy change file or copy from somewhere else.

Once i get Thinder runnin i wil be happy to support on a monthly basis but i need to se if ti will suffice.

I have had to buy a new desktop to get Windows 11.

I have installed Thunderbird, which I have used for many years, on the new computer. This version threads the incoming emails. I really hate my emails being threaded, it completely confuses me and prevents me doing what I have to do. I have not had this problem ever before. I have searched all the settings and not found any that will stop threading. Because the effect of threading seem permanent I now need all my emails reloaded to get rid of the effects threading.

I uninstalled Thunderbird and reinstalled hoping I could get a fresh start. I got the same old problem back again.

How can I get a version of Thunderbird that does not thread any of my emails ever?

And can I get all my existing emails re loaded?

I find 'threading' useless and confusing. I want to turn it off for every message, everywhere. But the drop down menus with items about 'threading' seem locked. I cannot uncheck anything. Not just that the checks return when I re-open Thunderbird, but also the checks don't respond to keyboard input to disappear.

How can I get rid of this horrible attempt the software is making to think for me? It always gets things wrong.

When I try to move the icon to the taskbar, it doesn't appear.

As the topic says, the message list turned from the usual dark-mode look, to a full black background after updating to 151.0.

Was this an intentional change? How can I revert it?

Just what it says in the summary. I went to settings to check/change something, and found this new (I think) message in colour at the top of the page. I have no idea what it means, as I am not part of any organization. The statement is a link, and when I click on it, it takes me to the page shown in the image What if anything, does this mean? Do I need to do anything about it?.

I can't turn off 'threading' of messages. I hate that feature. I'll do my own damn 'threading'. Now the 'search' function is useless. Help me turn off 'threading' I run Thunderbird which I like, on my HP Windows 11 laptop.

"Threading" cannot be 'unchecked' in the dropdown menu.

I had received several emails from an individual over the past few weeks. All emails displayed in the inbox (on my desktop computer) as they should. This afternoon suddenly all of these emails disappeared from the desktop inbox. The emails are still on the server and are and can be viewed in the inbox on my laptop but not on my desktop. If I use the quick filter function in the desktop the emails are there but not in the inbox. I assume some sort of filter accidentally was activated (I did not attempt any filter changes) but I can't find how to remove this filter function so the emails again appear in the inbox as they should. Please provide detailed instructions how to get these emails to reappear in the desktop inbox.

I don't use Archives or Templates. There is no folder on my servers that correspond to these and they are not subscribed in my IMAP settings.

They don't appear in the per-account view. But they somehow appear in the unified folder view.

I am not able to figure out how to make them disappear.

I've just updated my Thunderbird for Windows to 151 and I got this nasty surprise (this is why I hate updates these days).

The message list in dark mode, in a table view, now has this awful pitch black background instead of the normal dark brown as it used to have. It looks OK in cards mode, but I don't like cards mode.

I certainly hope this is a bug and not by design. Can this be fixed, please? It looks terrible, it's hard to look at, like old Windows 10 dark mode or some high contrast accessibility mode.
