I have a Canon TR8620 printer and a desktop PC. Yesterday I tried printing off a couple of text selections from two different sites. Both times the printer malfunctioned, printed the selection only partially and kept repeating this until I turned the printer off.

I contacted Canon support, and we went through a series of troubleshooting exercises, and he determined there was no problem with the printer itself. He suggested I tried printing from another browser.

I switched to MS Edge and successfully printed off two different items without a hitch. He and I both agreed that it appears to be a Firefox problem.

I recently updated Firefox to 144.0.2 (64-bit) and am suspicious the problem may lie there. I am running Windows 11 Pro.

I don't necessarily have a question, I just thought you might want to be made aware of this problem.

I am trying to use the print.always_print_silent entry to print PDF's. I added a print.printer_Mozilla_Save_to_PDF.print_to_filename entry with a string of file:///Users/Test/

If I append something like Test.pdf to the end of the string a file is created as expected in the expected directory. However, if I do not provide a filename explicitly, it does nothing.

Is there a way to use a variable such as the %t variable used in Headers / Footers to name the file dynamically? Otherwise I see no way to save multiple files to the directory in the fashion as it will overwrite the previous file with the explicit name.

Thank you for your help!
