Just uninstall the Test Pilot extension.
I have Test Pilot and my Thunderbird works okay. You sure you know what you are talking about?
There must be multiple issues than.
1. I have since the beginning of the year gone from Thunderbird 17.x to 24.x 2. Only add on that I use is Ad-Block Plus. Never had a problem before. 3. Ad-Block Plus is 2.5.x 4. The Test Pilot Program I'm assuming came in with one of the recent updates. I do know know what it is or why It is in the E-Mail Program. I did not install it voluntarily to my Knowledge.

If you toggle the Ad-Block Plus Plug-In every time you open Thunderbird it will work until the program is closed.
Since the status bar started working when I initially removed the test pilot program I think this is more of an issue with the way the add ons module in Thunderbird works with the UI. I was able to toggle ad block plus and then re enable it and I can make it work for the session. If you look at my screenshots that I have posted the bottom the status bar info is supposed to be between the unread and total box and if you restore Thunderbird you will see the right bottom window size adjustment where the cursor changes next to the ad block plus icon but it is in the middle of the status bar instead of the bottom right.
I am marking this thread solved. Add block has a bug, your aware of that. There is nothing more to add. There is a workaround on the Add block support forum. I suggest you use it.
Thanks
