How do I create a "New Mailing List"?

I have a very large address book, almost 300, that I want to break into 3 separate e-mail lists. From what I can see, you have to type in each individual e-mail address. Is there a way to just select then drag those addresses into the new list?

Of course you can drag entries to mailing lists.
