
Why would a software aplicaion automaticly open Firefox and install itself on my computer?
I was using internet explorer and a aplicaion from NCN SOFTWARE installed itself by opening Firefox. Why?

Yes, run with all the tools i suggested above, make sure you get the free version of malwarebytes and not the free trial pro version as the pro conflicts with norton.

Do you remember the name of the application? It's possible it was a malicious program trying to insert itself into Firefox. Try to scan for malware. Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware
Thank you for helping me. The application was named DOXILLION and is a file converter. I ran Norton 360 right after this happened and it did find any malware.
Scan with all the programs below for malware.
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- TDSSKiller - AntiRootkit Utility
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner

Thank you for the help. I ran Norton's Power Eraser and it problem with the computer's registy in the system setting and fixed that. Do you think that fixed my problem or should I run the malware software you suggested?
