Hi, in recent weeks my Firefox has been very slow, has had a lot of unresponsive script errors, has crashed an stopped responding. It's also been using a LOT of cpu. I've done the usual disbaling of addons and it made a tiny difference but nowhere near enough. I only have ones that I genuinely need running and it's still having the same problems. Anyway. Recently I've also been having a problem with an "important" update that keeps appearing despite being deselected repeatedly. It's not important, nor an update, but is Microsoft junk software. It keeps trying to sneak the installation in, and there have been a lot of complaints to Microsoft about it. What I can't understand, is why Microsoft has persuaded me to install this on the 6th November when it's already killed so many PCs. " As you'll be able to see on that page, the unwanted/forced software has indeed killed several computers and caused many other problems. I have not installed it, nor do I intend to. But I did get a lot of genuinely forced updates which I didn't even have the option to untick around the time this started happening and it makes me highly suspicious that they're purposely releasing things that will affect their biggest competetor so that people will get frustrated enough to move back to the terrible Internet Explorer. I won't be doing that personally because I know how many security holes it has, but it might be something that you'd like to look into. They already try to force IE updates and there seems to be no way for me to uninstall it entirely at all. (If you know of one, please let me know what it is. I use Vista. Very reluctantly, because newer versions of Linux clash with my older wireless card. Next time I buy a new computer, I'll be switching it instantly to Linux.) I've followed the support article instructions as far as I possibly can and I'm still having problems, but the main reason for this message is Microsoft's suspicious activity in relation to your product.
