Hello everyone i have been asked to install firefox on all the computers in our elementary school, (grade k-2). These computers are running OS X 10.7.5. To keep from visiting every computer in the building (200+ desktops/laptops). I would like to find a way to push Firefox out using an Unix script or with Apple Remote Desktop.

I have tried pushing the Firefox PKG out through Apple remote desktop before, but when the teacher went to use Firefox on the computer. They were presented with a continue setup box "about importing settings from Safari". I would like to know any special switches to using with ARD or a Unix Script to avoid this post install box..

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately I don't have the answer for this, but these type of questions (enterprise type of environment set ups) are generally covered in the Enterprise mailing list: https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/enterprise

I hope that you can find a quick answer.

Best, Ibai

You can create a file override.ini in the Firefox program folder and add these line to the file:

[XRE]
EnableProfileMigrator=false

cor-el... I thought .ini files are only used on a Windows platform.

Firefox uses more .ini files, some examples:
