The firefox does not ask what to do with the torrent files, it opens directly into bittorrent. How do I switch it back to when it asks what to do with the file?

You can check the setting for that MIME type in "Tools > Options > Applications" and change the setting to "Always ask".

You may have to reset all download actions by removing the mimeTypes.rdf file manually.
