A minute or so after opening Firefox, a dialog box appears with the message "We noticed you may hae signed in or signed out in another window. Click OK to reload your page." Is that truly a message from you guys or could it be some sort of virus?

The home page dims with the dialog box in front of it. While there's a close "x" in the top right corner, closing it only keeps it off the screen for a second or so and it returns making the browser unusable. Since it doesn't look like any message received before, we're hesitant to click the "OK" box at the bottom center.

Try setting another home page and see if the problem goes away. That message sounds a bit suspicious to me. Are you using the Mac OS firewall? I would suggest enabling it (System Preferences > Security > Firewall).

The Mac OS firewall was not set. Hopefully this an event that allowed me to realize the vulnerability and will prevent a more serious problem in the future.

I changed my home page as suggested and the problem disappeared. I then changed back to the original homepage (my.yahoo.com) that was having the problem and it is no longer occurring. :)

I had to change my home page - away from att.net. If I go back, it comes back. My computer at home is doing the same thing, so now I am going to have to get rid of att.net as my homepage on that computer. I think it is an att.net problem.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I finally called Apple and they said it was a Yahoo problem. Yes, I too created a new homepage where it didn't appear, but I wanted it gone from my original homepage! Somehow after the call to Apple, it simply disappeared.

I just went back to my original homepage and the problem is gone! Go figure.
