It doesn't appear in Tools->Add-ons

It doesn't appear in Tools->Add-ons

Chosen solution

Are you using the down arrow of the 'Search Bar', not the address bar? When you pull down the drop down arrow, it should show you a bunch of Search Engines, e.g. Google, Yahoo, etc.

You can also try:

View > Toolbars > Customize and see if you can drag the toolbar (the one you saw at the right of the search bar) into the window.

Did you look in your Programs folder to see if it's there? If so, could you uninstall from there? I am not using Windows 7 so I couldn't give you the detail procedures.

Its not there but as a Firefox 4.0 add-on I would expect it to be uninstallable from within Firefox?

You can uninstall almsot any add-ons that you installed in Firefox, except some toolbars that will not let you.

Try the following steps to see if it helps:

In Firefox, click 'down' arrow in the search bar and choose "Manage Search Engines.

If you see "Longman...." there, highlight & remove it.

OR:

View > Toolbars and see if 'Longman..." is there, if so, UNCHEKC it.

Sorry; the down arrow gives a list of recently visited pages but not 'Manage Search Engines'. View > Toolbars doesn't show it (even though it installs as a toolbar to the right of the search bar.)

According to Longman's website, the picture showed that it's one of your Search Engines:

Thanks for your patience. I don't have a search bar but the workaround "View > Toolbars > Customize and see if you can drag the toolbar into the window." has got rid of it.
