Hi there,

I recently upgraded from 3.6 to 4.0. Initially I was delighted.

However today I opened up and found that the browser looked quite different?

It seems to have two browsers one within the other? I have two header bars and so two sets of screen minimisation and screen close bottons???

Also I now have yahoo toolbar back. I had it on FF 3.6 but it was not there when I first upgraded and to be honestI was glad to see the back of it. Moreover there is a now a firefox tab included in the main set of drop down menus that was not there before.

In addition there is a new Firefox tab in the top left corner of the inner browser screen. Its quite distinctive being in FF colours and it certainly was not there when I first upgraded.

I am now really quite worried about this new version of FF. Such unsolcited changes to my browser are most unwelcome.

Please can you advise!!!!!

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically.

You can try "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to see if that gives you the previous session. Also check for Recently Closes Tabs or Windows.

You can right click the orange Firefox button to open the toolbar menu.

  • Click the Menu Bar entry to make the Menu Bar visible.
  • Click "Tabs on Top" to remove the check mark and place the Tab Bar at its original position just above the browser window.

If you need to access the hidden Menu bar then press F10 or hold down the Alt key to make the Menu Bar appear temporarily.

Thanks I got my old session back eventually.

Basically I was able to get into add-ons via a differnt route (can't actually remember how off hand). I thin disables yahoo tool bar restarted the system and got my old session back.

Still don't know what happened. It was all very strange??
