Multiple windows, multiple tabs: not all tabs restoring on restart
Hello, I am a taboholic. I tend to leave several FF (3.6.12 Ubuntu x64 repo version) windows open, with multiple tabs in each. It's not uncommon to have around 40 tabs total open at the same time.
The problem is that most of the time, when I start or restart FF, some but not all of the previous session's tabs are restored. Some of the FF windows will have all their tabs restored and reloaded, while some of the windows will have no tabs, or even the FF interface, open. See screenshot links below.
This problem doesn't quite fit any of the other tab-related problems in the archive. Anyone ever seen or heard of it? If there were a key combination or something to force the unrestored windows to load, that would be ideal, though hard refresh doesn't seem to do anything.

Make sure that you use File > Quit to close all windows at the same time.
Also make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the browser history on exit.
Also make sure that you close Firefox properly (no hanging processes left; System Monitor)
This can also be a problem with the file sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Profile Folder
Delete the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak and any existing files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js to prevent Firefox from restoring a previous session.
Thanks for taking the time answer cor-el, but that doesn't address my question. I do know about all of those, but the problem is I don't want to erase my session. Let me try to restate:
When I start or restart FF, I want all windows and all tabs to be restored. However, sometimes when I have too many tabs open, all windows open, but some of the windows correctly open all their tabs, while some don't open any tabs.
It feels like a memory problem, like opening 4 windows with ~10 tabs each slams FF to hard at startup, so it compromises by only opening some of the tabs and leaving the others closed, to make the load manageable.
My PC is a fairly standard 4GB AMD Phenom II X4, and opening this many windows and tabs, plus the stuff running in the background, appears to use up all 4GB.
What I'm wondering is, after FF finishes loading the windows and tabs that it has decided to load, and goes into idle without finishing loading the rest, is there some way to manually 'jog' it to get it load the rest of the windows and tabs? CTRL-R and CTRL-F5 refreshes don't work, wondering if there is anything else.
Thanks!
