my top bar comes up with dozens of internet pages trying to load when I open any internet page. Have not made any changes to anything. Pita to delete a dozen items trying to load every time I open Firefox. How do I turn that off? Tried looking for way to do that for hours and found nothing.

Hello Larry,
I can understand how frustrating it is to close dozens of tabs every time you open Firefox. This usually happens due to a couple of common settings. Let's check them step by step to get rid of this issue:
1. Check your Homepage settings: Sometimes multiple websites get accidentally set as your homepage (separated by a | symbol).
- Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) and select Settings.
- Click on Home on the left side.
- Look at the dropdown next to Homepage and new windows. If it says "Custom URLs..." and there is a long string of websites, change it back to Firefox Home (Default).
2. Check your Startup settings: Firefox might be trying to restore an old, overloaded session.
- Go to Settings again and click on General.
- Under the Startup section, make sure the box next to Open previous windows and tabs is unchecked if you want a fresh start every time.
3. Check your Extensions: Sometimes an add-on can cause unwanted pages to open.
- Click the menu button > Add-ons and themes > Extensions.
- Try disabling extensions you don't recognize to see if that stops the pages from loading.
Please try these steps and let us know if it fixes the problem!
