Recently switched from a cheap Samsung phone (a15) that did not have this issue, but on my brand new Pixel 9 the address bar almost never responds immediately; I have to mash it for a solid 10+ seconds until it finally allows me to highlight text or type something. Is there a fix for this of some sort?

A cursory google search only pulled up a single reddit thread from about three months ago of someone describing a similar issue but no resolution was given, just a couple commenters chiming in to say they have also experienced this - all Pixel users.

Hi! There are a few things that you can try if you haven't yet:

1) Firefox: Make sure you're on the latest version from the Play Store. Android System WebView: Update via Play Store — this affects how browsers behave system-wide. Pixel System Updates: Go to Settings > System > System Update and ensure you're on the latest build.

2) Restart your phone. Boot into Safe Mode (Press and hold power > tap and hold Power off > Tap OK to reboot in Safe Mode). Open Firefox in Safe Mode and test the address bar.

If these don't work, you can report this bug to bugzilla: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/

Hope this helps!
