Hello!

I have the following option UNCHECKED: Account Settings -> Copies & Folders -> When sending message... Place a copy in:. But when I send email, the copy still goes to Sent folder. I'm using Thunderbird 68.12 (Windows). Can anyone help with this problem? Was working fine in previous versions. Thank you!

Chosen solution

Try it with any other account besides Protonmail and see if TB works as expected. If Protonmail is forcing the saving of sent messages, which you don't want, you could set the account to 'Place a copy in' the Trash folder.

If the account is with gmail or outlook.com, and possibly others, sent messages are automatically copied to the Sent folder by the mail service, which is why 'Place a copy in' is unchecked. Who is the mail provider?

No, it's with Protonmail, and message is placed to Sent folder by Thunderbird, I can see briefly the following message from Thunderbird: "Copying message to Sent folder..."
