Signing in to Optus email; asks for G-mail sign in

When I open my Optus email a/c it asks me to sign in with g-mail or create a g-mail a/c. I have a g-mail a/c (which I rarely use) and when I sign with g-mail pw I can access my Optus email. Problem is that this occurs every time I open Optus email

Right click on Optus mail account in Folder Pane and select Settings: Check your Optus accounts Account Settings: https://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/answer/using-an-email-application-with-optusnet-email?requestType=NormalRequest&id=1434&typeId=5
