I have several email accounts. The default account in account settings is acctA@gmail.com. If I get emails to any other gmail account (acctB@gmail.com, acctC@gmail.com, etc) and click reply, the from box always has acctA@gmail .com. Any other email accounts that are not gmail accounts work fine eg. get email for acct@other.com, click reply, from box shows acct@other.com.

One additional note, if I change the default account to acct@other.com, then when I reply to any of the gmail accounts the from shows acct@other.com. But if I reply to any non gmail account, the reply is correct, that is, from the non gmail account.

Ok, I found the problem, so just FYI for anyone who may have the same. The gmail accounts were set up as POP accounts. So I was using recent:acctA@gmail.com for the username to allow me to check the messages at home and work (so I will still see message at work after I had checked it at home). I had recent:acctA@gmail.com also listed under the account settings email address and reply to address. I removed the recent: from these 2 and now all works fine.
