why does thunderbird have to RE--download alllllll my hotmail after a thunderbird update? it is wasting my internet time.

I updated Thunderbird recently and it is RE--downloading alllllllll my hotmail which was already on my pc. Why on earth would it download what is already on my PC? Programs are not as good as they were in the past. Do have have something set wrong in Thunderbird? Right now I am trying to block its access to the net with my firewall and not sure that is working. This is totally wasting my internet time which I pay for and it is limited gb. Besides slowing down my pc it is wasting my internet time and I may have to buy more time before the month is over.

This same problem is happening again. Thunderbird is redownloading e-mails allll day. And the emails were already downloaded on my pc.

Doesn't Thunderbird have an answer? Not sure if I should blame Hotmail or Thunderbird.

Will computers and SW ever run right again???????
