How can I get back to the inbox when I am in an email message?

ehsturn

If I open a message, then try to close it I get sent to another email. It takes forever to scroll back to the inbox.

"Scroll"? Sounds as if you are opening messages in tabs, I'd suggest you get into the habit of closing tabs after reading, or switch to using the message pane below the mailbox listing.

Right-click a tab and select "Close other tabs" to get on top of things.

In the main menu across the top, View|Layout|Folder Pane should give you a listing of all your accounts and their folders at the left.

No menu? Press F10 or alt+v then go to Toolbars and tick the checkboxes.
