How can I use McAfee Site Advisor and use DuckDuckGo as my search engine? I use Windows 7.

I have McAfee Live Safe and McAfee WebAdvisor. My Add ons include DuckDuckGo Plus and McAfee WebAdvisor. If I use DuckDuckGo, WebAdvisor does not work. I have to be alert when I search because Yahoo keeps coming up. Sometimes using Yahoo WebAdvisor is working and sometimes not ... no consistency. I really want to use a search engine that does not allow trackers and I also want some kind of protection from bogus sites (I got caught once and never want to go through that again ... many hours with Dell to get kill virus.) Thank you

Instructions below should hopefully solve your issue. Note that this solution will make you loose the added features that come with DuckDuckGo Plus Addon but will retain the functionality of internet searching with anonymity.

-> Uninstall DuckDuckGo Plus Addon {https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons} -> Close all browsers -> Uninstall McAfee Live Safe and McAfee WebAdvisor -> Reboot computer -> Reinstall McAfee Live Safe and McAfee WebAdvisor -> Update McAfee Live Safe -> Update McAfee WebAdvisor {https://home.mcafee.com/root/landingpage.aspx?lpname=get-it-now&affid=0&culture=en-ca} -> In Firefox, change default search engine to DuckDuckGo {https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox}
