Right click the account in the folder pane on the left side and select Settings. When the account settings page appears scroll to the very bottom of the account listing on the left side and select Outgoing Server (SMTP) Make the needed changes.

Thanks for the reply, I don't know what changes to make, the settings are all as it should be. But there is no authentication box to tick like in outlook express so i'm stumped. Chris.

In my experience when all settings are as they should be, you do not get error messages.

You are correct, there is no Authentication box to check. There an Authentication field that needs to be selected correctly.
