How can I permanently delete/remove the "archives" folder?? Every time I delete the file via my ImapMail folder it gets added back to my folders once I re-open Thunderbird. I don't want or use "archives" and it bumps folders I do use out of view. Any help would be appreciated.

Chosen solution

1. Copy the contents of the "Archives" folder to your "Local Folders", to make sure you don't loose those e-mails.

2. Thunderbird Menu: Tools: Account Settings: In the Account Settings window, find the e-mail account of concern on the left side and show the settings under it. Select "Copies & Folders". On the right side you will see a section for "Message Archives". Un-check the box "Keep message archives in".

3. Now try to delete the "Archives" folder in Thunderbird. If it still reappears when restarting Thunderbird, then login to your webmail and delete the folder there.
