Needed to refresh my firefox browser but after doing so every time it is opened multiple tabs open prompting me to enable or install add-ons that I had previous to refreshing firefox. Then I am prompted to restart firefox only to go through the process all over again. Mcafee Siteadvisor enterprise is installed on this laptop and I noticed under Access protection in the console there is a user defined rule firefox disable add-on. The option to edit or delete this rule is grayed out. All of these add-ons including Mcafee site advisor are to block ads, inform of security risks on websites etc. and I am unable to install any of them including MSE????? Help!!!!

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.

Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.

Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.

Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

New files will be created when required.

After, restart Firefox.

See "Corrupt extension files":

You will have to approve the updating one last time.

is this a company computer. Presumably it is if you use McAfee siteadvisor enterprise.

You may need to contact your IT department if you have problems and they set up the computer.

If you choose to Refresh Firefox one thing that does is uninstall your Firefox extensions. If you need to reinstall MacAfee Siteadvisor Enterprise, then your IT department will have paid for the licence on this and it will be able to advise you on how to reinstall it.
