Hello, I try to make a manual update on my Zte Open C following the instructions you provide here ( https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Firefox_OS/Developer_phone_guide/ZTE_OPEN_C ). Everything appear to be ok until the phone was rebooted(at 98% of the status bar). The phone boot perfectly but the upgrade tool alert me that the operation was unsuccessful. At that point I thought it was just a matter of recognizing the phone from the computer. However it was not, in fact, when I tried to insert the sim card I noticed that the phone could no longer connect to 3G networks. Looking into the details of the phone, I noticed that my IMEI was set to 0. Is there any way to restore my original IMEI?

Hi kRoLLh,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems after attempting to manually your Firefox OS device.

Did this error happen when using ZTE's tool to root the device, linked below?

That tool was developed by ZTE, so if the error happened when using this tool, they will be able to better assist you. Here is the link to ZTE's Support page:

In the meantime, you may also try following the steps listed on ZTE's website for flashing via SD Card:

Thanks,

- Ralph

Yes, I used the tool and the rom from the link you mentioned. I've already tried with the rom via sdcard but nothing. I think it messed up the folder where the imei was stored . While waiting for an answer from Zte, as your knoweledge, can the original imei be restored in some way? Thanks,

Ettore

Ok, I was able to restore the imei using qpst and the sgs3 method. But this unfortunately doesn't solve the 3g issue. Maybe there are problems with the baseband! The strange thing is that every time I reinstall the rom, 3g works normally for a few minutes, but after he dies again.

Anyone is in the same or similar situation??

Hi kRoLLh,

I have not experienced this problem on the ZTE Open C. It's possible that there is some issue with your specific device.

I would suggest contacting ZTE directly for additional support. I would also suggest contacting your carrier, and verifying that your network settings are all configured correctly in your Firefox OS.

Thanks,

- Ralph
