Hello,

Recently I have started to have emails fail to deliver to a certain domain and the message that comes back is

550 DKIM Sender Invalid - envelope rejected.

I am using Thunderbird v128.8.1 esr (64-bit). Extensions installed are: 1. Attachment Saver (Deimios, v.0.2.2) 2. FileLink provider for Send (Teal Dulcet v2.1.1) 3. Remove Duplicate Messages (Eyal Rozenberg v0.6.1)

I have been in communication with this client for several years and not had this problem before. When I send email to the same recipients using WebMail there is no problem, it is only when I send from Thunderbird.

I am not using any encryption type of setup.

Has anyone come across this before? Does anyone know of a solution?

Thanks, Franc.

I suspect there is no fix and I (possibly) can restore from backups, but I would sure like to know what the issue is.

I tried retrieving an e-mail from the "folder" where I kept e-mails from 2023. The "index" one sees displayed for the folder had e-mails from Jan-Mar of 2023, but Thunderbird froze when I tried to open any of them. I tried the repair function (which I imagine is meant to rebuild the .msf file), but after than the index contained nothing from Jan-Mar. I opened both the .msf file and the no-extension file in Notepad, but I see nothing from those months.

Any clues/help would be appreciated.

Hi, our city provides a garbage/recycling calendar (weekly) that is added into Google calendar by a url. On my first laptop, when I installed Thunderbird and setup the calendar, the entries showed up (as well as other Google calendar entries). On my 2nd laptop, they don't show up, although other google calendar entries do. Any ideas? Thanks, Shawn

I use many filters to divert many incoming emails to nominated local folders. One filter only started misbehaving last year. It transfers the message but then enters random number of duplicates so filling the folder with garbage. The message gets duplicated 1,2,3,4 times at random.

How can I cure this?

I'm wondering if Thunderbird on Android can autocomplete email addresses that are not in my address book.

For example, I respond to an email from xyz@abc.com. When I create a new message, not a reply, and type in "xyz@" it fails to find anything. This is the opposite of how Gmail or iOS Mail works.

According my settings the junk mails in junk folder should be deleted after one day. But - instead of deleting these junk mails - the junk mails just move to trash folder (which then must be cleared manually) - absolutely nonsense !! My thunderbird version 139.0.2 - before update to this current version, the junk mails have been DELETED (!!) according my settings and NOT moved to trash

I have started to see patterns in emails coming in now, 100% Ai generatred, so dry and cold and just plain robotic. They are all formatted the same way too. I run a company that manufactures goods, bespoke made to customers designs. So you can imagine there would be a lot of conversation before they pay, with a real person maybe 5 to 10 emails before they decide to pay. We have noticed a trend where we go to like 15 emails in and they were asking the same questions but just reworded. Now we have a copy and paste reply which explains ALL of our services in detail, prices and a clear CTA.. We can't waste hours helping some 14 year old kid train his robot! Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a way to stop it??!

Account appears correct in the settings which has been checked through on line by Microsoft and Apple who suggest its a software issue with Thunderbird. Has anyone any thoughts as to the problem?

Microsoft analysis showed these comments:- "The request time out means your account has server issue which you temporarily cannot yet set up your account in thunderbird. With this, I would highly suggest contacting Apple Support so they can provide to you the correct information and when the server issue will be rectified for your account"

Apple support basically added nothing and suggested I contact Thunderbird Support.

I clicked on Run Filters on Folder while in my Inbox and they ALL disappeared. After some time, I discovered that they went into the Trash bin. The inbox has all but quit receiving emails since June 23rd and it appears that they are automatically going into Trash. Now...I made the awful mistake while in Trash to click on Run Filters on Folders to see if I had accidentally diverted my inbox into the trash and to my utter disappointment they too vanished. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I have some older emails that are very important and would like very much to retrieve them all. Thank you very much!

Many of my mailboxes on the IMAP server just emptied. They were still there in my Ubuntu '.thunderbird' ImapMail directory. I have created some replacement mailboxes in 'Local Folders' and copied mbox files from the ImapMail area to the Local Folder area, removing the .msf files just created by Thunderbird. I then used the Properties->Repair Folder on each of the the new Local and filled-in-the-background mailboxes. Many worked fine and I was able to repopulate the IMAP server mailboxes using drag in Thunderbird. Some, however, were mis-parsed, producing 'From-less' and Subject-less messages containing part messages. Thunderbird seems unable to reliably parse mbox files created by itself. I note that they are not strict mbox format, having a '-' instead of an envelope address on the delimiting '^From ' line. (I am a retired Unix SysAdmin, so used to the command line)

emails are on the server but don't show up on my Laptop

I sent this earlier, but maybe this will be clearer:

I have not been receiving emails from Earthlink using Thunderbird since 6/26. I have two laptops, both running Win 10. One (A) receives Earthlink emails, the other (B) does not. The last email I received on (B) was on 6/26 at 7:05 am CST. I use Thunderbird on (B) and Windows Mail on (A). A is not configured for either MSN or Gmail. Only Earthlink. B uses all three.

I have two Android phones, and both are receiving Earthlink, MSN and Gmail emails.

I can go to Earthlink webmail using B (or A) and emails are there, and are accessible. (I am configured POP) As with the MSN account I log on to Gmail webmail, and everything is there.

I’m currently only receiving emails on Laptop B from my MSN (dot com) (Hotmail) account I also have a Gmail account, but get no emails from Gmail either. The last Gmail email that I received on Thunderbird was also on 6/26.

I have not made any recent changes to settings. There seems to be a common denominator in this somewhere, but I can’t find it. Can you help me sort this out? Thanks, Ted

Thunderbird (desktop and android) reading received time zone differently than other email clients

B 139.0.2 on Win10 and TB on Android 11.0b2. Yesterday I got an email at 11:42 am. That time shown was consistent across TB desktop, android, and other email systems (e.g. ipad mail). Then at 3:00 pm I noticed the same email had the arrival time changed to 3:35 pm (so in the future?). The new time shows both on TB desktop and Android, but other email systems (ipad mail, Gmail) still show the original time of 11:42 am.

I opened the email in a text editor. Near the top it says:

Delivered-To: replacename@gmail.com Received: by (bunch of letters/numbers) with SMTP id z9csp1572268pxu;

       Fri, 27 Jun 2025 11:42:33 -0700 (PDT)

X-Received: by (bunch of letters/numbers) with SMTP id d85a73u69752e-4a7fcac4408mr84193.1751049752874;

       Fri, 27 Jun 2025 11:42:32 -0700 (PDT)

So that looks correct, as the email first arrived at 11:42 into my inbox.

But further down in the email text file there is:

In-Reply-To: <dc3bf(bunch of letters/numbers)ed74@gmail.com> From: Shiela <office@business.ca> Date: Fri, 27 Jun 2025 11:35:51 -1100 X-Gm-Features: Ac12(bunch of letters/numbers)Pb1yxp7nGDpJl8 Message-ID: <CAP6Ti(bunch of letters/numbers)soGigQ@mail.gmail.com> Subject: Re: Estimate 2806 "2462 Deer Ave"

The date line then says -1100 with a time of 11:35 and the inbox email. So one part says -0700 and another says -1100 for time zone. TB desktop and android reads this second time zone and switched the email in my inbox to read arrival at 3:35 pm whereas other email programs read the first time zone of -7000.

Any ideas of what happened or why TB reads the second time zone where other clients read (correctly) the first?

This morning I received no emails from Earthlink. I haven't changed any settings, and my two laptops were receiving emails yesterday.

I thought it might be related to a MS update, but that was a couple of days earlier. One laptop uses Thunderbird and the other runs MS Mail. So it doesn't appear to be related to the email client. (?)

I went to the Earthlink webmail and the messages were there. Server name is pop.earthlink.net.

I went to the webmail and selected all the emails for this date and marked them as unread, but no joy. :(

I can read my Earthlink emails from the webmail, but sure would like to find them in my inbox!

Thanks for any help.

I'm running Thunderbird 128.11esr in Kinux Manjaro (all up to date) and since I updated to 126 the drag-and-drop feature for adding attachments or pictures has stopped working:

It acts as if the attachment is there, but the file icon is greyed and with a ?, the file size is 0 bytes, and if trying to send or save as a draft, I get the message: "Please check that you have access to the file".

I installed this version through Flatpak, since I had problems with the version from the official repository.

Any help much welcome!
