2 in 1: scrolling difficulty and font personalization

jbr beäntwurde

Hi everyone! I have a couple issues that I'm encountering for an otherwise solid experience.

1. Scrolling with my touchpad or touchscreen on my laptop is choppy with Firefex while being smooth as butter using Edge and Chrome. It's on a specific website with a ton of pictures - Slickdeals.net. No problems with all other websites. The issue is w or w/o hardware acceleration.

2. I thought I found something great with Firefox's option to disregard a site's native font...so that my chosen option will override every site. Instead, it's showing up on only a handful of sites I use. More confounding is the fact that changing font size is not taking effect...when I choose 'reader view' those options work perfectly but going into the main settings just won't act accordingly. I'm also on the Microsoft forum talking about help with a virus but I'd like to know if anyone else is struggling with this...thanks!

Set the "Minimum font size" as well, can't tell if it fixes gmail, but if you're wrestling with too small text, this is definitely one of the more enforced overrides you wanna leverage.

Could you attach the settings pane as you have configured for the fonts? Generally setting only Latin and both serif and sans–serif should be enough, but better check, as it's finicky…

Please see my screenshots...Gabriola is showing up too small in the body of my emails (I use Gmail).

Changing the size doesn't do anything!

Thanks, Travis

Thank you! It's kind of sort of a solution. While it did make the font bigger in Gmail set at 16, the actual font in my email body's wouldn't go any higher than 16. As I set it to like 34 for a test, all the left sidebar items in gmail got huge and all the stuff on the main screen giving a preview of the emails got huge...however the actual email body text wouldn't get really big.

Also, I use Google news which is becoming more ridiculous what shows up there. Anyhow, the main tabs and stuff get huge but only certain sites reflect Gabriola is the main text while some do not...so much for the Firfefox override. It's as close to being what I want compared to the other two main browsers. Reading mode works well!

Thanks again, Travis

Formatting of emails or editable content is mostly under control of the sites/scripts, so you'd have to write custom styles for the apps and/or find an addon that allows tweaking that.

As for other sites — that depends whether they're still allowed to load their own fonts (then the settings haven't worked) or just show in default Arial (which you have set as an override for a class of families) — as you only set your override Gabriola font for one type of text for one type of language, but not others. If you want to see it in more places, you'd need to redefine the sans–serif definition as well.
