Can't log in to AOL

Today following a brief power outage I was no longer able to sign in to AOL with Firefox on my desktop computer. I am able to sign in to all other apps with no problem. I tried clearing my cache, restarted Firefox, restarted my computer and spent 30 minutes on remote desktop access assistance with AOL trying to fix the problem with no success. I can log in to my account using Chrome on the desktop computer and can log in with no problem using my Android phone but can't log in using my desktop computer with Firefox. I've verified that my Firefox version is updated. I am running Windows 11 Pro.

I would greatly appreciate any helpful advice.

Hi

What happens when you try to login using Firefox? Is there any error message?

Regardless whether I try to sign in with a passkey or I try to sign in with alternative methods, the following error message is generated: "Something went wrong. We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device."

As stated previously, I have no problem signing in to AOL on the same device (my desktop computer) using Chrome or on my Android phone but cannot sign in on Firefox.

It may be weekend maintenance - I have experienced that myself with other websites.

Do you have any add-ons installed in Firefox?

I hope it's weekend maintenance, although the problem occurred mid-afternoon yesterday (Saturday) following a brief (less than 1 minute) power outage that triggered a computer and router restart. The problem still persists more than 17 hours later.

Re Firefox extensions -- yes, I have two installed: (1) Proton Pass Free Password Manager and (2) Print Friendly & PDF

I'm also now receiving a new message:

"We couldn’t sign you in

Change your browser settings to continue. Try the following:

   Turn off ad blockers
   Enable JavaScript

If you still can’t sign in, try a different device."

I turned off "Block pop-ups and third-party redirects" and also confirmed that Java Script was enabled, restarted Firefox and tried unsuccessfully to log in to AOL mail again. Same error message is generated:

"Something went wrong

We could not sign you in. Try again from a different device."

What level of enhanced tracking protection do you have set?

It's set on Standard

Is there no further help available from Mozilla? I *am* able to sign in to my AOL mail account on Chrome and on my Android phone but not with Firefox, Brave or Edge. I have completely turned off enhanced protection for the AOL site and am still unable to sign in.

AOL tech support says they aren't having reports of others encountering this problem. Could this be a Microsoft-related issue since it's not connecting with Edge or Brave as well? If so, how do you explain the ability to connect with Chrome desktop and my Android phone?
